The stock rear door speakers in my 2001 yukon have stopped working. About a month ago i installed a Kenwood HU and all the speakers were working fine, but recently i noticed the rear door speakers have stopped working. I took the speakers out of the rear door and connected them to the front door and they worked fine so its not a bad speaker. so it seems like a wiring issue. i checked and redid all the connectiong in the wiring harness in the HU and that didnt help. Ill been looking on the forums and not sure if the rear doors are powered off a seperate stock amp than the front doors. Is it possible i do not have the rear door amp connected to the remote turn on if there is one? (supposed to be under the drivers seat?) or is it a different wiring issue?

if you have BOSE then all speakers work off one amp and the rear outputs on the amp are fried. u may have a grounding issue, but with that being said most of the time none of the speakers will work

I dont think so but i can try switching the front left wires with the rear left wires. the HU is only like a month old so i dont thing that would be an issue. ill get back to you once i try later tonight

Edit: i just tied switching the HU connections. the HU rear out worked with the front speakers so its not a bad HU. the Rear speakers also did NOT work with the HU front terminals

so it isn;t from the head to the amp (delcos still have one, right?), nor the speaker.

most likely the rear amp channels went pop.

Eagle, if I read correctly, he took radio out and plugged speakers into rear output, from front and it worked.

I could have read it wrong tho.

yeah im confused on what he was saying. if it is non bose then there are no external amps that run the speakers. they all run off the internal amp inside the radio
