i figure someone (since everyone has done some type of suspension work on their truck) can tell me is the stock front shocks on my 01 are blue? the backs are black...i think. has 125k miles and not sure if the previous owner did shocks or not. the bottom mount is looking rusty though. thats why i figure they are factory or just old. my bilsteins will be here monday anyway. i believe its the premium ride. and i think non luxury package. i have the vin break down. says premium but luxury no wheres.
also there is some kind of according bushing or bump stop between the upper and lower control arms. is that just for vebration or what? what are they called? the passenger side is all torn up. need a new one.
this is probably going to have answers ranging everywhere. dude i got the truck claims that the tires are causing a noise cause it happened when he had the mounted. they are fairly new. the are bridgestone dueler AT 693ll model or something like that. i hear what i cant decide if its tire noise or a bad hub. i had a friend ride in the back and put his ear up to each wheel well. says he didnt here anything. makes me lean more toward a bad hub. i rotated the tires when i got home from work and it didnt change. leaning even more towards hub now. also goes away when i turn left and is louder when i turn right. i know the alignment is bad cause the tires arent wearing evenly. i plan on having that done after i get all the ball joint and rod ends done. they should be here soon.
and last, are the steering boxes on these a problem area? i am getting a barely noticable bump when and only when i turn the wheel left. wonder if have a gear starting to go bad. i wont even worry about that till it really needs changed.
thanks for the help. sorry for the long questions.
