Ok - here goes :)

I set up the two speeds on my Mark VIII with two sensors that are plugged into a custom made pipe i spliced into my radiator hose.

1 sensor is present for 185 and the other 198. Sooo....if the thermostat only opens at 195, its already past the temp I want to low speed to kick on.

With that in mind, I'm going to lower it to 185 so when the fluid hits the first temp sensor they are about the same. This should also lessen the on/off volatility I'm hoping.

new thermostat = $16
new temp sensors = $35/ea

I have a feeling it's the original thermostat anyway, so it's time to replace. My feeling is that a 180 - 185 thermo shouldn't affect performance or emissions...what do you think?

Fan relay setups from Jegs, BeCool, etc all turn on 5 degrees past the thermostat temp and turn off 10 under ie 180 thermo = 185 on, 170 off.

I run a 180 in the summer and it runs a lil better when warmed up vs the 195, I am running a warm air induction setup though. :D
