I am getting a creaking noise from my rear quarter panel floor area, and after researching I found out it could be due to body mounts.
They sometimes get caked with dirt or the bolts come loose and cause that annoying creak noise where ever they are situated. In worst case scenarios the whole mount fails and need replacing but thats not my issue as its not that loud yet. I also read either washing them down, rergeasing them, or retorquing the bolts works as a fix.

So before I head off to WalMart can any of you recommend a lubrications spray that will work?
I am thinking either dry Chassis lubrication spray or White-Lithium spray?

Hmmm.... First I have heard of this, but I have a creak in the rear on my 07 yukon. I thought it probably had something to do with the drop springs. Any more info on this would be cool. Mine usually creaks when going over speed bumps really slow and the vehicle bounces afterwards.

When do you experience your creaking Nnaboy????

I get my creaking prety much over any bumps, even reversing out of the garage.
I wet to AutoZone and the guy gave me some PB blaster to spray on the body mounts.
Solved the creaking problem right off the bat.....

Guys I am getting a creak out of my front left side when coming to a stop. Only when I'm going 10 and under it creaks pretty loudly. I know that it's not brake related do you think it could be a body mount? Bushing? Who should I go to check it out?

T Giv its most likely coming from your front cross member, have it tightened at any local mechanic.

BTW for anyones future reference, my creaking from above ended up being loose rear door strikers (the u shaped hinge the door locks too when closed), got them replaced an the problem was solved.

Is it a creek, or is it a squeak? I had a creeky squeaky noise coming from my rear area, thought it was the shocks but it turns out it was the rear hatch rubbing on the weather stripping. I sprayed the rubber weather stripping with silicone and greased the hinge with white grease and it stopped.

Mine is definitely a creak. It sounds like it's almost a braking issue but I've taken everything apart and don't see any reason for that. It happens when the front of the truck dips down while braking but only when going very slowly approaching a stop. I'll bring it to an auto repair place today and see what they think. Thanks guys!

PB blaster is a spry lube. Great stuff. I noticed on my GMC & BMW that the body mounts are making noise after only a few years. Torqueing to spec. and keeping them lubed makes a huge difference.
