Yeah they are getting paid but not really, that money there getting is the money that came out of there paycheck in union dues. It's their own money. So there probably going to make less money this year now there collecting union pay then if they stayed working at there current pay rate.

And it’s not enough for folks to pay for a lot.

House, food, utilities, credit cards and car payment add up quick to more than $500/week…

Exactly, it equals to $12.50 an hour on a 40hr week and thats taxable has to be reported on there taxes, probably like $375 after taxes so there probably going to make less money this year collecting union pay the if they stayed working at their current pay rate

Thats why they are on strike there are some workers working for a little more than the $12.50 an hour to bring them up to a working wage.

Gm has agreed to include the battery plant workers into the union contract. Ford and Stellantis have not.

No, $500 a week is what the union is paying them for the strike pay not the car company's they make way more then $12.50 /hr working there.

There are two wage groups at GM they are trying to bring it to one equal wage in the agreement. To which is one of items negotiations with GM. If I'm thinking correctly was $15.00 with not all benefits included.
