be sure to set infrasonic filter on . :)

i was reading about that just now actually..the whole on vs off argument.. looks like the consensus is the lower and tighter and more spl based the system the more you want it on.. and the more street yoursetup is the less you need it.... i also go that bad ass loc from mtx called the reQ.. to eliminate the car itself cutting out low frequencies from the signal

ported, you'll want it on for sure. High SPL cars dont need it as they peak from 50-70hz. I finally got around to getting my system in this weekend, sub box tonight, and doing sealed for low bass, and accurate, and small sized box.

too bad you can't get your hands on a PG cyclone.

:) would beat the pants off everything you listed for EXACTLY what you want to do with it.

and it only needs 300w@8 ohms for max output.

ahh, the ole buttermaker.
IMHO, it's not meant to be a subwoofer. It's an ultra low frequency transducer, and it's fairly inefficient, as it takes a lot of energy to move air powerfully at 10-20hz. I know they had issues with it, being a plastic piece. Cool in its time, weird technology for then.

i looked into it actually.. and yea on the label it does everything id want it to do.. 2 issues though.. A: its noisey as shit.. and B: it likes alot of air. Also since its old technology id hate to see it break and have to keep repairing it myself.. same reason as the fact i love the CV strokers but will never run a set.

im usually all over that.. this setup is something i would normally call sloppy and avoid.. but its a super tight sub in a super small enclosure (for what it is) and its ported super low (>27hz) so im sure the 5s and 8.5s will do there job and keep it in check.

the 2 8.5s hit pretty hard.. and they are under the front seats.. so they hit hard and close.. plus the tuning on the 15 should pull the 8s into it the same way a 6.5 and a tweet becomes less of 2 independent speakers and more of one 12 inch area of sound..

in the same area of thought i feel like the 15 and the 8s should create an entire sound floor.. and use the massive amount of 5s and tweets to pull it all up.

i wouldnt mind replacing the 8.5s with amped 8 inch subs later.. but im not sure what all there is too it... gotta see how its mounted ect.

Low end beasts! Put a 15 in 3cf sealed and you will be VERY happy.

well 20hz note is something that you cannot psychically achieve in a vehicle. you can simulate it but never achieve it. a 20hz sound wave is 6 feet long.
