Does anyone know if long-wheel base (suburban/caddy ESV) floor carpet can be made to fit the standard length SUV (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade)? The front part is 100% the same, the central section that goes under the captains seems to be at least fitting if not the same, but I'm not sure if just cutting the excess length in the trunk section will do the job — Suburban seem to have more leg space for the third row than the Tahoe and that effectively means the cutouts and plastic guides for the seats are placed differently.

I know the wheelbase on the long bodies is longer and the 2nd row seats are not interchangeable between long and short so the carpet definitely won't be the same in the center section.

That isn't to say that it couldn't be made to work but it is definitely different.

The areas you'd need to cut out land right where it sees the most use and is most vidible.. like right in the foot area of the second row seat and cargo area in the back.

The 2nd row seats are definitely interchangeable (because my 2nd row seats are actually from suburban), but you're right: the center section is in fact different. That leaves me with the same front piece and a lot of cutting for the center and the trunk sections. Not worth it from the looks of it.

While I haven't tried it myself, everyone on here that tried to swap from 2nd row buckets to 2nd row bench had to get seats from the same type of truck, longbody to longbody/shortbody to shortbody. There are several threads where guys that wanted the opposite seats from what they had met up to swap seats and claim they wouldn't fit.

But again, I have never tried it myself.

Welcome, 08 Tahoe LTZ right? …

07-10 has specific carpet for the second row to accommodate the differently shaped hard ABS moulded carpeted seat surround(s) for the bench or captains chairs.

The 07-10 2nd row bench & captain carpet has different cut outs because the floor mounts are different. I believe an 07-10 captains carpet can be used with a bench, but not the other way around because the bench cut out holes would show and look funny with captains chairs.

You’re correct the LWB (XL) and SWB (standard) rear cargo carpet are not interchangeable. Even if trimmed the 3rd row seat sliders are in different places. Those sliders are melted into the carpet and bonded.

I’d stick with the SWB 2nd & 3rd row replacement carpet from either the 07-10 or 11-14 SWB Tahoe / Yuke or Esky.

I haven’t gone down the rabbit hole of 2nd row interchangeably between LWB & SWB trucks yet. Post up what ya find out.
