I have a 2002 tahoe and I'm trying to replace the factory sub with another 2 ohm
sub but when I bought the new one I didn't pay close enough attention and it's a dual 2 ohm sub, I saw online that you can wire it to a 1 ohm final impedance but only if your amp can support it. So my question is, can the factory amp in a 2002 tahoe support 1 ohm

Doubt it, but it'd likely handle a 4 ohm load.. Though at a loss of power.

Probably blow the amp. Usually in order to run a 1 ohm load it's done with an aftermarket amp that's advertised specifically to run at 1 ohm.

yp don't do it or you'll be sorry. it would work at 4 ohm, just not that great. why don't you return it and get the correct 2 ohn setup?

I don't want to return it unless I have to. So if I set it up at 4 ohms how much power will be lost, I have never had anything with a subwoofer and the one in my Tahoe was blown when I got it so I never knew what it sounded like, will it still sound better than the stock sub

You lose basically lose half the power. It might or might not sounds better, we don't know what sub this is. but never will sound as good as if you got the correct version.

Any way to wire it and keep it at 2 ohms?
