Supercharger Question, whipple Upper/Lower o-ring

As anyone that has had the pleasure of installing a whipple on a Suburban knows, its a pain in the ass to keep the O-ring in between the upper and lower half of the intake manifold in place. i used light grease as suggested and after the second attempt I managed to wreck the O-ring. Does any one know if i can use permatex form a gasket? or do need to wait for whipple to open next week and order a new oring. Any help is appreciated.

Are you installing the supercharger on a 2021 or 2022? Or an older model year?

Ugh, that's frustrating!

Permatex on an o-ring is a crap shoot because there is no way of knowing what position the ring will be in once installed. They can roll just enough to render the Permatex unable to help with the seal, and adding too much sealer will create other problems. You might get lucky, but ordering a new seal is your safest bet.

I use a product called Fuelube when I install o-rings in similar situations. It's much tackier than grease.

Thanks geotrash, i ordered one ($70). it comes in a kit with other gaskets that I don't need, but it's the only way i could find it. I'll see how round two goes.

A new o-ring is the only way I would go. The possibility of having an intake leak is not something I would want to deal with. When I installed the Whipple on my 02 I had the same issue. The hard part for me was lowering it into place without sliding it since it was tight under the firewall on mine. I did mine twice also due to the leak.
