Do you ever walk out to the garage and just stop and stare at your Ride and think damn that’s an awesome machine?

When I look back at some of the vehicles that my friends and I have traveled with over the years I am amazed at how much better the newer vehicles actually are. Yea, they cost a lot more and the bad ones I remember were all we could afford and not exactly in great shape, but it has been a long time since I have had to deal with stopping (often) to add water to an overheating engine, or carrying an extra quart (or two) of oil to keep the oil level up, replacing headlights, thermostats, water hoses, greasing wheel bearings, changing spark plugs, replacing distributor caps, rusting out mufflers, etc. It has also been many years since I have had to change a flat tire.

Ahhhh..... My, My, My..... Those MANY memories just came flooding back into my mind.

Those lovely memories of stopping on the road, often not by choice, and having to work on the vehicle just enough to get it home, or in worse cases, just enough to get it to the nearest parts store.

I have the same thoughts and feelings as I walk out of the garage past my 2001 Tahoe and my 1970 Monte Carlo that are parked side by side in my garage. The Tahoe is our trip vehicle and I have owned the Monte Carlo for 51 years, it was my first car in college.
