Napa Gold is Wix.

IS the filter on your 07 Down level with your pan?

Mine is up high and inverted. I do love the idea of a taller filter and look into it. I usually run the purolator gold one. Anybody know the # or different truck it goes too?

No. The oil pan looks like a section was cut out for the filter. The space is just big enough for the filter. I had to buy a filter wrench that attached to a socket wrench and grabbed the bottom of the filter to get it off. Of course, get it on and tight enough is an exercise in creativity. The standard size filter is just long enough to not stick below the pan. A deeper filter will give people with a NNBS a little more to grab on to so that install and removal is much easier, while not protruding far enough to risk damage or interference. The filter runs straight up and down.

I love reading oil change and filter debates... Lol it's always interesting how and where people come to conclusions etc.

I got my suburban now and it's got over 200K on it. I have no idea if it uses synthetic. Should I start with a blend first then work my way up? I just want to make this motor last a good year longer at least then swap in a duramaxx.

Imo save your money and change the oil . Especially if your changing the motor out.

What does everyone think about Hastings oil filters. I have a connect at the auto parts store so I don't pay full price($18). I've used those and the fram extended guard on my 02 Denali with 182k. I love my truck and want it to last forever so any input would be great.
