Took the truck for a quick 4wd test, all works and engages properly but I can hear some squeaking/ratcheting combo noises when in 4wd Low or High. It is equipped with NP8/NVG246 and 3.73 non-desirable G80 LS rear diff according to the RPO codes. Note that this truck sat unused for a couple years, my prognosis on this is that the noises originate from the clutch pack in the T-case due to extended non-use, am I right? Could it be the rear diff clutches as well? Should I drive it some more to circulate the fluid or will this not be beneficial? Holler...

Usually you can get power to the rear wheels because of the way they are designed almost regardless of what is broken. If there is a noise then you should check the fluid and make sure that it is the right type if it is then suspect a loose chain on some t-cases when the chain gets loose it will drag on the bottom of the case it is not too bad though some people changing chains with the case mounted in the vehicle I don't know if it's possible though.
