hey, im considering a tuned port injection set up for my blazer. anyone done this on there trucks?
I know there shit at higher RPM, not that these trucks rev over 5000, but man do they look good.
if anyone runs one let me know what you think, if not, i guess ill let you all know soon.
I will do vortec heads with the SDPC base intake but the rest im keeping factory (runners, plenum). Im also going to go with the speed density system for future plans of running twin turbo or single large turbo.
Again, not the best intake for big power, but I will make it work.
Any good tips, let me know.

I used the Holley 9901-101-1 for my second version with a supercharger. I thought the isolation from the valley cover might offer some heat reduction in the intake. It also is a nice place to run wires and hoses to try to keep the clutter to a minimum,

It did not have the rear coolant passage, so I got around that by drilling holes in the back of the heads. 1/4 pipe thread and connected two hoses to a tee and then to the heater valve. Worked out great.

Later when I switched to the turbo's, it was the perfect manifold for the Banks plenum. This intake uses an extruded fuel rail that is bolted into mounting pads in the intake. Two 1/4 20 bolts on each side. It makes it easy to switch injectors.

I don't know what you were planning for controlling the 8 injectors, but there are a lot of variable for that. :)

that sounds good and looks good, i have the factory t.p.i though and just looking for a mild performance boost, mostly for looks.
im sure i can make good power out of one of them though by going to forced induction.

The first version S/C I used was the Vortech kit that was for the throttle body style stock manifold. It had a block with two additional injectors that went between the stock throttle body and the manifold. It had a stand alone, control to pulse the additional injectors, by watching manifold pressure.

It worked perfect and added a quick 100+ hp. The kit had all the brackets to mount the S/C on the drivers side and fit perfect.

If you could find one of these kits, it would be just a weekend project. :)

hmmm, thats an all right idea. 100 horse though, i best rebuild engine for that (268000km)
i gotta do something quick though, its bone stock other then the shift kit i put in wednesday. stock is totally unacceptable.
what you go with to lower yours? im torn between a lowered 4x or lifted. yours looks great.

I used the Beltech kit. Keys in the front and their new leaf springs for the rear. The Beltech leaf’s, are too weak for towing, so I had to add Air Lift bags for towing trailers. That works out better probably, because I can adjust for the load easily.

I was lucky that the stock keys came off without too much of a fight. I made a tool to back off the stock key with a c clamp or something, I don’t remember exactly.

I’m never off road, so I was more interested in cornering, so lowering was what I was looking for. I found a front end alignment guy that does all the local hot rods, that gave me an aggressive alignment. It probably will not be good for tire wear, but it handles great.

hmm, sounds good. I have the gm tool for the keys, but at 270000km and canada roads, my torsion bars arent likely to come out, so ill be buying new bars first.
im thinking ill go the lowering way (wife and soon to be kid will have easier time getting in)
what did it end up dropping you all said and done? and what part number for the kit with leaves?

It has been a while since I bought my kit, 2003. I had gotten mine from Truck Addons.com At that time they were listed as “92-99 Suburban K-1500”. The kit was for the keys and leaf springs only. The shocks were sold separate front and rear. I paid $405.00 in 2003 for the lowering kit itself.

Truck Addons does not list that kit now. You might want to call Belltech direct and check on availability.

I dropped mine 2.5 inches The kit said, 2.5 to 3.5. My tires won’t allow going any lower than the 2.5 without rubbing.

I like the look but wish it would ride a little smoother. I guess you can’t have it all. :)

right on, a call on monday morning to them for me then. and last time i checked, that price still sounds right (i was looking for my sierra)
it snowed here in alberta so my trucks a mess, so still no fricken pics, but ill get some on and let you see what im building.
