Im looking for some insite as to what might be wrong with my tachometer. I know its not really that big of a deal but since the gauge is on my cluster i would like it to work. Ever since i bought my 97 Hoe a few years ago my tachometer has never worked. I have replaced the ecm/computer (whatever you want to call it) with no luck, and i recently replaced my gauge cluster (with a 99 escalade cluster which looks awesome) and still had no luck. Just wonder if anyone else has any ideas as to what the problem might be or atleast where i can start looking. Thanks.

Did you figure this out

I have a similar issue with my 97 Tahoe. Tach, odometer, speeddometer and prndl12 quit working. Cluster is not problem, replaced with working one and same items didn't work

if tach, speedo and ind indicator not working you have burned out your transmission fuse circuit and technically your tranny should be in a limp mode right not. if not in limp mode then you only need to fix one wire likely.
