Hello all,

I'm trying to get my replacement remote to connect to my Tahoe 2002. My other (also original) remote is working. All are original, with original alarm.

I can not get the Tahoe to go into program mode. I follow the instructions (insert key, press unlock and hold, turn on and of twice with the key, then let go of unlock).
After this, the lock does NOT lock and unlock.

I've read a lot of posts about it, tried it very slowly or fast, tried turning on ignition 3 or 4 times, have tried multiple days. All without effect.

Meanwhile my other remote works perfectly well.

Does anyone have another tip to get into program mode?

Thanks :)

All the doors are fully shut?
Are any of your door sensors messed up and one of your doors are 'open' by chance? Maybe go through and slam all the doors and the tailgate just to be sure.

After you turn the key to Off the second time have you tried holding down the unlock button until the vehicle locks.

Tried this, sadly no results.

Would a dealer be able to link the remote in an other way than this? Or would components need to be changed?

They will program it the same way you are trying to do it. They will insist that the problem causing you not to get into program mode be fixed before they can program the remote. You have something wrong. Either in your procedure or with door/hatch switches.
