Hello, I have a 2022 Tahoe that is making a clunk/thump noise when turning the wheel left or right to park in a parking spot, reversing left or right out of a spot, or making a sharp left/right turn. It does not happen all of the time but it does happen enough to notice.

I was wondering if anyone else had had this issue and had gotten it fixed per the TSB here PIT6033.

The closest post I found that has videos with the same sound I am hearing while turning is Here.

Interesting.. I’d have thought your 4w actuator is sticking and that you are in 4 x when it shouldn’t be. The binding noise is common in4x

Does the noise occur when you simply turn the wheels in place with no truck moving, or does the truck have to be moving AND the wheels turned, in order to have the clunk occur?

Hello all,

Truck is in 2wd when noise occurs. Have never used the 4x4 system on it.

Truck has to be moving while performing a tight left or right hand turn for the noise to occur. The noise also happens when vehicle is in reverse while also turning hard left or right.

This is not a binding noise that you get with driving in 4x4. I know how that sounds and feels.

This instead is almost like a clunk or pop noise that only happens as you are moving and making a hard left or right hand turn in either drive or reverse.

I can duplicate the noise heard here in the two videos posted.

If you get this while moving, but not while stopped (and turning the steering wheel), I'm thinking that it could be one of the CV joints on the front drivetrain.
