Well, I ended up buying an optima yellow cap battery, I got tired of jumping my truck every 3 days and the dealership playing the blame game on the subwoofer.... now my dilemma is replacing the old battery... I see the oem battery has an adapter connect to the positive terminal.... Can I use that same adaptor with the optima battery?

Would that adapter fit with the optima battery?

Did you do the test by leaving the sub unplugged for a few days? As for the connector, you'd be the one to determine that since you have both batteries and can look and see. If the Optima has the same terminals in the same location on the battery, then yes. If it doesn't then you have the wrong battery.

Actually I took the truck back to where I had the sub connected. According to them, it was connected with a sound module that supposedly turns on and off with the sound of music.... so I told them to get rid of the module because it's obvious that it's not working so they did and reconnected it the right way with the radio and accessories . Now it should shut off when the radio is off...

Thats exactly what I said on my first reply. Seen is the OEM radio I usually hook them up to the ignition or accessory wire to make sure it goes off.

Ive never heard of one of those but it sounds like a lazy-ass way to connect it. I guess they didn't want to go through the hassle of adding a turn-on wire. Idiots.

I agree, I hate the fact that they are no reputable shop that does good work in New Jersey.... not like cali where you can find a shop pretty much anywhere

Well I just installed my optima red cap battery... i had to modify the accessory adaptor to fit the optima battery because it's a lot smaller the the oem battery, but it came out perfect. No more jump starting my truck anymore...

Do you have dual batteries because that one looks like it's on the passenger side.

No, just that one main battery in the original spot... it's a lot smaller than the factory battery...
