Tahoe dies out at idle

Hey everyone, I have a 03 4.8l Tahoe and only toinght it has started to idle very low with the AC on and it dies out when in gear with the AC on. It seems to run fine with the AC off the idle is a little lower than usual but it seems to rum ok. Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this??

Pull off your CAI and clean the throttle body

Dirty throttle body and/or IAC. Have you noticed any noise from the A/C compressor? If the compressor is drawing a lot of power from your engine then it might be going out.

Sounds like the IAC motor isnt bypassing enough air to the throttle body when there is a load on the engine such as when in gear with A/C on. Try cleaning the IAC with carb cleaner and see if it gets any better. If it does, then your IAC is bad, and the best way to fix it is to replace it. Cleaning it will only help for several months.

X4 about throttle body. Also check fuel filter. Most people over look the fuel filter as it gets clogged up pretty fast.

Thanks for the input guys, cleaned the throttle body and the MAF sensor today. Runs great now, cleaning it worked like a charm

I used Sea Foam today for the first time on a Crown Victoria. Stuff is the balls!!! Used it on the throttle body and some in the tank. Cured a rough idle and made the ol' 4.6 liter hum. Gonna use some on the hoe.
