Tahoe DRL Switchback Made Easy

New Member here with a 2011 Tahoe 4x4.

I've been reading this thread titled: "Tahoe DRL Switchback LED Rewire"
great write up as it got me inspired to do it a little different.

I became very interested in doing the mod but didn't really like the Radio Shack diode and having to worry about protecting it from shorts. So upon further investigation, I've discovered an easier way of doing this mod with the help of a "Switch Back Controller" that'll do it all for you with only a simple rewire. Also found what appears to be proper new 3157 bulb sockets (turn signal side) that don't need to be modified to fit the headlight thereby maintaining a good water tight seal, plug & play is what I'm after.

My parts are currently on order and some already in the mail on their way. I bought a junk head light bucket to do the mod on first in order to prove everything out on as well as use it for photos I'll post up in doing this new version of this popular mod. I'll also post up a simple easy to understand wiring diagram for those interested as well as detailed parts information, so if your planning this mod but haven't done it yet, wait for it, it'll be so much easier. So hang in there with me and as soon as my parts arrive, we'll get to it.

DAY 1:
Here we go....................

My new LED G3 Tail Lights arrived yesterday as well, very nice on fit and function. Pic forthcoming.

Project:

Donor headlight bucket arrived yesterday, needs serious, serious cleaning to make it worthy of photos. So today the headlight will be scrubbed down and cleaned as I'm still waiting for the delivery of my DRL LED's via the mail as well as new low & high beam bulbs. I figured since I'll be pulling my headlight buckets out to do this MOD might as well upgrade/replace everything now.

According to USPS tracking #'s, should start seeing parts arrive by Thursday (4/21/16)

I've received the "Switch Back Controller" and it's a total fail, not worth the time to persue................this post is dead !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have the second headlight buckets though, you could always do a retrofit with quad projectors with a LED Demon eye for your DRL?

Just curious, which switchback controller was it? I know TRS, exLED and diodedynamics make them. I'm modding Escalade taillights with the exLED module and not use that trailer harness everyone has been using.
