Tahoe LTZ chrome wheels - nasty marks - help needed

all 4 have similar marks. some are covered in this crap. some have a bit less. thats why i am assuming its not clear coat failure on all 4...

The one wheel, shows the 'damage' on just half of the wheel. Are the other wheels sort of the same? Possible damage caused by a harsh acidic cleaner was sprayed along the ground, and splashed onto your wheels? I am guessing the clearcoat did not fail, but the clearcoat has been damaged? (( " clearcoat = powdercoat " ))
Try a test area on the wheel, to clean, and show us the result.

It’s just clear coat failure. Could be from bad prep or just environmental conditions.

I doubt it’s calcium, but if you think so go look at a product called CLR. That’s for bathrooms but I’d look into it to see if it can be used on wheels either straight or diluted.

We used to use this kn the side covers of my Norton 50 years ago. Then my Harleys. They looked like chrome. If no go send the wheels to a powder coating shop. A good one will straighten and tune the wheels at the same time.

The wheels are coated. Polish will not buff-out the defects, until the aluminum is stripped of the coating. Having said that, the wheels MIGHT be chrome plated, then coated? Then he'll need just a chrome cleaner.... AFTER THE COATING IS REMOVED.
A TON OF WORK...... Unless you send the wheels to a wheel restorer.

If it were me I would get tires off and get them, blasted and powder coated Gloss Black. I did this with my old LTZ style Rims lasts for years .
