Tail pipe size?

Does anyone know the size of our tail pipes I have a 99 tahoe LT. The reason Im asking is I ordered a gibson tip and it does not fit. Gibson siad it would fit a 99 tahoe but it does not even come close to fitting over the existing tail pipe which I think is close to 3"?

I am not being a smart ass but did you measure it? It is an OBS it could have been changed over the years

Ya, I should of measured before I orderd the tip I just figured that the comany new that it would fit a stock 99 tahoe as they described. The tip is 2.5" and i believe my tail pipe is 3". I was just unsure if tahoes in this year had different size pipes or not?

Umm yeah go get a tape measure and measure it. That way you know for sure, we can guess all day long but it's possible it's been swapped and not even stock.

3" sounds larger than stock, it has been so long since I has a stock pipe I just can't remember
