Ever try the help section in the auto parts store? They always seem to have oddball parts.

I see some new ones on eBay for $40 shipped if you need them bad. Or maybe wrecking yard?

@Kelsda, the part number you listed seems to be more for the liftgate glass. Check GMPartsdirect.com to confirm.

I'm not familiar with the exact model of your Yukon (GT not listed), but same year and one of the Yukons shows this part number: 15966612. Don't know this vendor, but there's one shown here: http://oemcats.com/oem-parts/15966612.html.

I'll be damned, I had no idea they were supposed to have a sleeve on them. Mine are long gone.

Do you mind measuring the outer diameter on that sleeve and letting me know what it is?

I've had a tailgate alignment issue for a while, wondering if the missing sleeves are the culprit. I might try slicing a piece of heater hose and slipping it over it to see if it helps snug it up.

I was gonna say measure it up and find a non threaded nylon spacer from McMaster Carr.

East302 I will measure tomorrow they are factory pressed on. I was thinking about diagonal cut on a piece of nylon or plastic sleeve this is my 4th 2 door all missing every time I go to a bone yard can’t find any right now I’m dying from stomach acid with pepto and Rolaids (thanksgiving dinner in-laws)

Thanks, I appreciate it. Have you had any issue with the tailgate leaking?

I have a 1998 two-door and the top of the tailgate isn't seating with the liftglass, leaving a gap where water comes in.

These photos are not of my truck (they're from a 7 year old post on fullsizechevy) but show the exact problem that I'm having. The tailgate hinges do not have any slack in them (bushings) and I've adjusted the liftglass hinges to no avail. New GM weatherstripping (twice) didn't help, either.

It's as though the tailgate needs to come up about 1/4" on the passenger side, a little less on the driver side. When I saw your post about the striker sleeves, it made me think maybe it would help with the tailgate alignment.

Pictures are with the black exterior trim removed. Have you had this on any of your four?

The plastic piece is a 1/2 inch outside diameter and is not a tight fit on the inside sorry to say never had any leaks back there that I know of. Silly question how are your hinge pins on your tailgate? Did you try to seal the window to door with silicone just to see if that is your issue or how is that rubber seal on top of the glass it does divert water. Where is it wet on floor
