Don't go with the Hemi Grand Cherokee (I'm assuming it's the 6.1). Max towing is 3,500 pounds.

Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk

No not the SRT8 Grand Cherokee, the normal version with the 5.7L Hemi. It is rated to tow up to 7,200lbs.

Don't get rid of a it! A TBSS is still a TB!

Yeah, the interior is the same except for the awesome SS seats...but the exterior looks SO much better. I can't even seriously look at a regular TB, but the SS looks like a different truck.

The engine, trans, and suspension are so different from a regular TB that it drives great, and tows surprisingly well for its size. It does squat in the rear a lot more than the Tahoe so i'd either need to get a weight distributing hitch or get stiffer rear springs (likely custom since I doubt anyone makes stiffer stock height springs).

I dunno. It would certainly be a downgrade. Just kicking around ideas now.

I got rid of my 06 Z-71 Crew for my 08 LTZ...If I didn't need the extra room I would have never done it. Just sayin'

The Tahoe is much nicer but the truck had all I needed except for that one extra seatbelt. (had all options but sunroof) I think you would regret going to a TBSS

Am I missing something with the TBSS? Seems like it has been a reliable truck for my friend, except that it broke half of the exhaust manifold studs. That was a PITA to fix since a few of them were broken inside the head. Other than that I don't think he's had any problems.

He never launched hard in the last 40k miles so I don't think the tranny is on its way out or anything.

Like someone else sid, a tbss is still a tb. It's like the srt-4 neon. They're fun to drive but in the end you're still driving a neon. Haha.

I hate getting such terrible gas mileage too but when the price of Hybrid technology goes down and it becomes more mainstream/more affordable, i'll probably upgrade to one. I get 10.5mpg in my Esky and 14.9 in the Avalanche so I personally think 15.3 is good considering it's a 6+ ton vehicle. The TBSS is sick so if you don't mind losing the interior space and want to save some cash, i'd say the logical choice is to sell it and buy the TBSS : / but the interior in these GMT900 vehicles are sick!

Not 6 tons ;) Almost 6k lbs....3 tons. A Tahoe is about 5,800lbs. That would be a BIIIIG GMT900! haha

Yeah the Esky has the 6.2L (right?) and full-time AWD. One reason I don't understand this full-time AWD thing in an era where they are trying to get every last MPG. It is good for its size, for sure. I just thought it would be in the 16s. Revised EPA estimates are 14 city, 19 highway, and 16 combined. Trying my best to stay in 4 cyl mode as much as possible 15.3 is my average from March until August. That isn't why I'm thinking about selling though, like I said the smaller Grand Cherokee gets similar mileage because it is AWD. I was refering to the fact that the much more fun to drive TBSS gets about the same and it has AWD and a yummy LS2. I wish the TBSS has selectable 4wd and 4 cyl mode!

Oh important to mention the TBSS wants 93 octane and the Tahoe is happy on 87.

Chances are I will keep her, they are great trucks, but just talking it out.

It appears Felix's Esky must be a dump truck dressed up as an Esky

Yes another issue is active fuel management. Esky's didn't get that until 2010 so mine is always in V8 : /

TBSS would be fun to have but don't know if I'd want it as a DD.
