A programming question for @swathdiver or @Rocket Man
When I select “request data” why is the newest year 2007? Because of the discontinuation of tis2000? Need to use tis2web for that?

I don't know why but I select that year and haven't had a problem programming because of it.

Ditto. Although I haven’t tried programming anything in my 02 yet and my Silverado is an 07 but I did notice that. I’ll have to hook it up to my 02 and try requesting data to see what it says.

I have one nagging issue with my clone unit that I would like to solve which is when connecting to a vehicle. Either with or without the candi. With the candi it takes me three power cycles of the tool to see the candi. After that it works as expected. Without the candi it takes several power cycles to connect and then works as expected. On our envoy it triggers an unknown driver and security light on the dash. I have different software and have tried a new cable with identical results. All the self tests I can do pass. I am thinking of playing the amazon return game and picking up a different VCM or OBD connector. Anyone else have an issue like this?

I would be very curious what is seen on the serial data line while this is happening. Sounds like something amiss there like loss of communications with the BCM. I often use an obd2 splitter cable with an ELM327 clone and record the data traffic for analysis.

i am pretty sure I missed something but wasn’t that the bug you were trying to fix by reflashing your PCMCIA card before you got into reflash hell?
