I found that for programming it's critical to use the AC power supply for the Tech2. I ran a 50' extension cord from my garage out to the truck. The same exact thing was happening to me and that solved it.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to help. I tried AC power to both the cable @ the CANDI and also directly to the Tech2.

Today it won't even get past 0% when attempting to program. At least last night it was *trying*.

Yeah I have found similar stuff from searching for those error codes. "Contact support" is always my least favorite response, haha.
try cleaning the battery terminals and have a charger on it while programming in addition to the 12v dc wall supply to the tech2, the tech2 does not supply voltage to the vehicle at all.

FWIW - Not sure if it's been mentioned but programming generally fails if there is any aftermarket part (radio, remote starter, etc.) that hasn't been disabled first.

Terminals are clean, new battery, new negative cable, fully charged overnight and tried with the charger both on and off.

No aftermarket parts on this truck that I'm aware of.

I called the acdelco support to try and get some assistance, he ran me through a few things to check. He theorized that perhaps there was a problem with the seat module itself. So after we got off the phone, I figured I'd try and update something else instead. Tried to program my lift gate module with the latest programming.

So anyway my lift gate won't open now, cause that programming failed too about 25% though. HA!

have you ohm tested the lan bus? there are couple pins on the obd port than can be tested for proper ohm's, if it's not that then I would suggest taking it to the dealer and have them try with there tech2 and see if they get different results if they have success then it might be a defective tech2

Yes, I'm getting ~60 ohms on the bus. I do wonder if it's due to some other CANBUS issue because as I've mentioned in my other threads I've just had a host of problems with this thing.

any permanent codes? if so that's sometimes a indicator of a shorted module or short to ground

No, but every time the system 'reboots' during the programming process (dash goes black, doors unlock, headlights come back on) it throws a U0140 communication error when I scan again. Unfortunately the causes seem kind of vague when I google it, including "caused by an error while programming modules" which makes sense.

So it's a chicken or egg question. Is the communication error causing the programming issue, or is the failed programming causing the communication error.

With the tech2 I can ping all modules (well, not the seat or the liftgate anymore) but I can see live data, command different actions, etc.

I *thought* I had a shorted module which led me to replace the memory seat module in the first place - my other thread I talk about that. It was working after replacement, but I was trying to update the program just to be sure there were no issues cause it came off a different year vehicle.

So far, as far as SPS programming goes, I've tried
1. The seat module (failed, no longer works)
2. The radio (failed, but still seems to work ok)
3. The lift gate module (failed, no longer works)
