So I am trying to do a service bay evap test
seems a bit tricky at best

I got it to the point of start engine and keep rpm yada yada

but everytime I start the engine the dam tech2 just reboots, regardless if it is powered externally or not

I see in the GM video that the tech2 is connected the pc and being emulated/controlled on the pc
does it have to be connected to a pc to make it not reboot?
what is the trick?

meh,,,seems to be a general problem with the clones, a voltage regulator has to be removed and replaced to get it in a certain spec so it stays lit during the voltage drop when starting even if it is connected to a outside power source.

got it to work and not reboot using a 12v adapter plugged into a extension cord, seems the cigarette power port suffers the same problem with power drop and the Chinese power regulator inside the clones is inferior and needs to be replaced to correct the issue.
