i am looking to buy a used Tahoe and I was wondering how to check the 4 wheel drive if it is not a good idea to run it on dry road?

Put in 4wd and turn, you will hear the tires squealing on dry pavement

I was lead to belive that this is not good for it

As long as you don't do it for a prolonged distance you'll be ok. Just make the one turn then put I back in 2wd
