I don't know what the Z71 skid plates are made of, but I'd assume plastic. A few members here (@Doubeleive, @tgui) bought aluminum ones, I think off ebay.

+1 for trimming the stock air dam. It's gonna get scraped up, anyway, so why buy one when you can make one from your current one?

Whatcha think about a mild lift, maybe even just pick up the front a little to level it with the rear? A set of spacers are cheap and easy and it'd definitely have a purpose in those environments.

the 15+ have a option for factory metal skid plates, but they make a plastic one also that has 2 metal support strips

The GM kit I looked at appears to have an aluminum front skid and the remaining 2 are steel.

I've looked at the lifts as well. Those are on my potential to buy list as well.

Thanks!

the only steel plate is for the transfer case, the other 2 front ones are aluminum, apparently there is a alternate front plate also aluminum but it sits up front more and mounts differently, somebody posted it in another thread i asked how it mounts in the front but haven't heard back yet

Does the Z71 kit include the Chrome looking trim that goes along the bottom lip of that bumper?

Definitely needs brighter lights. Thought about doing a pair of rigid cube style lights on each side at the factory fog light locations

Adding nice 4500k - 6000k low and high bulbs (LED or HID) and doing the ‘4-High mod’ makes a HUGE difference IMO. Although I do also have factory fogs that I installed higher (5500K) bulbs in and have them tied to the 4-High mod - so when brights are on so are my low beams and fogs! Day and night difference from factory.

Truck looks great! I have a 18 suburban and I am in the process of installing a front hitch so I can run a front step skid plate and insert a winch on receiver. I also have a setina push bar to install when I have time....

Can you run a front hitch and push bar together?
