My 96 hoe was moving around all over the gauge. In the last couple of months it went upside down and is dancing all around while pointing toward the floor.

Mine did that then i got a new pump when mine went out and it works. Still a lil weird but thats because gas flops around and the floater goes up n down when not full of gas

One homie over at gmt400 just did a write up on this using some oil.

Link? my dad's new Suburban is doing this. It's goes straight to the right upon startup, then "hummingbirds" like crazy. It's accurate, but I can't hardly see the tip of the needle it's moving so fast.

im thinking about trying it as well. more than 50% of the time its the cluster.

That is what I was thinking also was it might be the cluster. I think I read on here that it has something to do with the steper motor for the guage or something like that.

I have already had the fuel pump and stuff replaced and I noticed that when ever I put the Tahoe in drive, reverse or park the fuel gauge will jump around.

I might just try this fix first and see what happens and if that does not work then look at replacing the cluster.

I had a 15 passenger that did this too. It would do the hummingbirds thing
