How do the Blizzaks stand up to everyday/dry surface driving?

not always are they AWD. my 05 Denali is 2WD and also has a 5.3 not the 6.0, it was a special construct. so you can find them. odd as they are. makes getting parts from the auto houses a bugger.

Well I know this has a a 6.0 but it says 4wd with auto transfer case. Would that make it AWD, considering you have no control over 4hi or 4low?

That is correct. If there is no switch for 4hi/lo, awd, 2hi, and neutral then you have full time AWD. I don't think any of the last gen Denalis had 4WD, the Escalades didn't either.
