So I caught about an hour or so of downtime last night and knocked out running the vacuum line and wiring for the MAP sensor for the Interceptor gauge to read boost, that was the easy part, the difficult part was trying not to get frustrated setting it up and scaling it appropriately, once I finally realized/remembered that the gauge will only read boost in one unit (will not go from inches to lbs - only will measure in lbs.) things got a LOT easier!
Then today we had a bit of a heat wave (30ish degrees!) So I was able to tackle a few things I boogered up on the install, and some other stuff I hadn't finished yet...
- removed 12oz of intercooler coolant and replaced with 1 12oz bottle of water wetter
- replaced the driver side evap purge hard line I snapped and jb welded during the install.
- ran wire loom and sheath on hoses and wires I had left bare
- removed (plastic attachment plate) and cleaned up the large junction section of the driver side wire harness to give it more of a factory / undisturbed look.
- ordered ARP bolts to replace the blower pulley bolts.
- confirmed 5 to 6 lbs of boost (3.3 pulley) every day she seems to pull harder and harder!
- Called on a price quote for local (Livernois Motorsports) AWD Dyno tuning for when I pulley down, install exhaust and replace the magnuson injectors with my factory e85 injectors... Price STARTS between $850 and $1000... So I have some real thinking and debating to do...
* if I'm truly "done" modifying the truck at 9-10 lbs and an exhaust... Then it may be worth it...
* if possible, I absolutely want to have a safe (but fun) daily driving tune, and have it go aggressive/track at the push of the tow/haul button...
* the cost of HP Tuners or Auto Cal and a wide band O2 kit comes near the dyno starting price...
* either way, ck375s and corsa exhaust with escalade bumper are next...

No no no to livernois for tuning. They want way to much! The place in Brighton only charges 700 for forced induction tune with dyno and street tune!

Just a quick update:
- fuel mileage has gone up (significantly - when I'm not driving like a dick head of course).... incredible... I can't explain it, but it's awesome...
- P0171 and P0174 are rearing their ugly heads once in a great while on long idle-s, after some research it could be a low value parameter in the stock mag tune, or possibly a small vacuum leak somewhere... i'm on the case! Will double check the intake bolts torque, check all the way back to each and every vacuum line...
- I NEED the wide-band kit for my Interceptor Gauge... so moved that item up on the priority list.
- I discovered a small fuel leak (yikes) around the front two (passenger side) injectors, at the base of the injectors (intake side, not rail side)... removed the fuel rail, replaced all the old o-rings, cleaned up all the seats, noticed the injector "cup" (portion of the rail that seats the injectors upward) was "tweaked" on those specific injectors, so I placed a socket inside the cup and carefully corrected the angle, and re-installed, wallah, no more fuel leak!
- cleaned up the driver side wiring harnesses a little more (picture below)
- ARP Blower Pulley Bolts should arrive this week, will install asap
- decided to go "stealth" with the "Magnacharged LSX" emblem lol, placed it under the hood on the grill cowl (picture below)
- picked up a couple more badges to fart around with... heavily considering the "supercharged" one inconspicuously placed below the lift-gate's "yukon" badge... meh, i dunno... trivial...
- immediately after rims (ck375s) and tires shopping list is as follows:
* Wide-Band kit for Interceptor Gauge
* 2.8 ish pulley (call it an even 10 lbs. of boost)
* crank pin kit
* HD tensioner
* Black Bear Tune

Dirty - Night time - engine bay shot, post driver side harness clean up and emblem placement
engine bay (night-dirty) 1-21-16.jpg

Harness cleaned up a bit
engine bay (post harness clean up).jpg

Mag'd LSX emblem placement
maglsx badge.jpg

new emblems to ponder with... (the 6.2l is approx 3" long, and the "supercharged is about 6")
emblems.jpg

Kind of a crummy photo, but basically describing the fuel leak issue... not sure if the fuel rail cups were bent or compromised during shipping...? dropped....? not sure... but it's fixed and safe now....

They are expensive, there are 3 places close to us that have awd dynos. Iivernois is the second most expensive. There is also motorcity speed in walled lake, and speed industry in Troy.

yeah... livernois was $800-1000 just starting cost... guy was a bit of a dick to me on the phone too... so no thanks... I know theres a newer place in Livonia, probably more ford centered and not much feedback/rep to my knowledge...??? Damn, I sure miss the days when my buddy Kurt still ran things over at Wheel To Wheel on 14 and Dequindre... sure was nice to strap er down for free and go nuts.... ugh. Sucks, because I want to eventually get back into the swing of doing my own tuning with the HP Tuners software I'm used to, but I'm going to be hard pressed and hesitant to invest in that stuff again after paying the $600 for Black Bear...

as the truckster sits now with 5-6 lbs, it defiantly feels stronger, smoother & quicker than my SS did... crazy how much has changed in just 8 years... 10 lbs of boost is going to feel insane... verrrry curious what kind of times it'll be capable of then and after exhaust and dialed in tuning, best I pulled with the SS was 12.36 I believe at Milan, er maybe it was Norwalk (always had better times at norwalk, worst times at US-131 for sure)... either way, that was with extensive trans work, stall tq converter, lingenfelter GT 2-3 cam, head work, and at 12 lbs of boost... (plus a whole sha-loo of other odds and ends), it certainly feels like this truck is on board to surpass or meet that time with much less work and worry...
