Jeff, now you know the meaning of the GOV-BOMB!!!! LMAO! I am waiting for my G80 Locker to go bad so that I can get a Detroit or ARB Locker and some 4:10's!! I could also do a swap with my Burban, but I am too lazy! lol Have fun rebuilding that thing!

Any thoughts on a rear axle conversion to something a little less 'light duty'?

Thought about converting to either a Ford 9" or built 12 bolt, but I think I'm going to have to wait and beef up this 10 bolt for now and see how it does. Throwing in an Eaton truetrac, 4.30 gears, and fabbing some braces to weld from each axle tube to the diff housing, along with a larger and stronger cover.

I would go with an eaton posi. They can be rubilt if ever need and the clutchs are beter or even a tru track posi

Going with the Truetrac. It's a badass piece. I like the Eaton posi, but don't care to have to replace the clutches later down the road. We threw a Truetrac in one of my buddy's camaro and he runs mid 8s in the 1/4. Going on three seasons now with no problems.

I put 4.56s in last weekend... Holy balls. You will love it. I only turn ~2500 at 70.

That sounds like a very reasonable RPM considering the performance increase!!! What size tires do you have?

I had to show my wife after I pulled the cover. She kept telling me I was crazy because I had a smile on my face when I was showing her and explaining what happened. Guess they'll never understand...Just something about being able to cause that kind of carnage...it sucks that it happened, but feels good knowing you have the power to make it happen AND have an excuse to give the wife when dropping some dough to build it stronger.

Amen to that bro!! Its deff a sence of accomplishment. My 77 Camaro I blew 3 trannies, 2 rears and finally the motor (well buddy caused that). Sure I was pissed at first but it was fun lol

They make coil spring 14bolts, did you buy the trutrac already? 10bolt should hold about 500whp I'm surprised your grenade-loc lasted this long I know mine is getting replaced with a trutrac before I throw any more power at this thing.

Yea, just ordered the trutrac yesterday and I went 4.56 instead of 4.30 on the gears. The truck's going on a diet and I'm swapping to some smaller and lighter wheels. I'm hoping with less weight, deeper gears, and some bracing on the axles and pumpkin that the 10 bolt will hold up till I build up a badass 12 bolt, or even a 14 now that you've mentioned it.
