Why 22x10's if only a 275 series tire? Unless you're going for the stretched tire look.

You got hellwig sways, Apoc RCA's, lowered, considering 22x10's... Throw a 305/40R22 on there and you'd really be on rails!
I want to keep the tire inside the front fender. I don't think a 305 will tuck in on articulation. I could be wrong...I had 305/35/24 on it before, and they would scrub the fenders, but that was before dialing in some negative camber.

I use this site a lot for reference:

You might be right but might be able to do a +25 to +30 offset and be right with running -1 degree of camber like you are.

22x10 are kinda hard to find in off the shelf cast wheels. Most 22 x 10” wide are more commonly found in “offroad” lower offset meant to sit outside the rim.

There are some options out there.

Plenty of options out there. My 24s were Vossen Forged HF6-2 24x10+24

I really want some of the new TE37 “ultra large PCD” in 22x9 +20… but I just can’t justify dropping $6k on wheels.

I see you’ve have your 24s for sale for a year and a half. What’s making you change? Just the coating flaking?

That and there really aren’t great tire options for 24’s. I had 305/35R24 ST-III’s and although they rode great and performed well in wet and dry weather they would flat spot overnight if it got below 40-45 degrees and would take about 15 mins of driving the following morning before they rounded out and stopped sounding like a helicopter. First and only set of tires I’ve ever had do that.

Maybe now that 24’s are an OEM option for the 2025+ MY some more reputable brands like Goodyear, Michelin, and Continental will develop some 24” tire offerings.

They’re awesome rims though. Forged monoblocks weighing only 36 lbs a rim which is about 10 lbs lighter than OEM GM 22’s.

At this point I’ll probably get them refinished here locally and either sell them as new or keep them to eventually throw on a ‘22-‘24 MY some day.

I thought I read that you ended up getting your 24” Vossen HF-6’s back from the guy you sold them to?

I did, then I sold them again to a guy in IL. I feel terrible, too, because it turns out one of them was out of round; he did get a STEAL on them, though. He ended up getting it trued for a deal, and overall wasn't mad about it. I just didn't like how rough 24s ride compared to the 22.

Funny enough, I have STIIIs on my 22s, and mine do the same thing. Now that it's getting warmer here in the Midwest, they don't seem to be doing it quite as bad, but it's still noticeable on the first ~3 miles of highway driving.

I had NT420V on the 24s and my god, that is one rock-hard tire. If I could get a PilotSport 4 AS in a 305/35/24 I'd be the happiest camper ever. I may make the switch to them when I need tires, or when I buy wheels again. I've loved them on 3 different Subaru's, although that's a very different weight class.

It can be hard to tell if a rim is out of round until you dismount the tire and take it to a reputable rim repair shop and they spin it. 24's do ride rougher than 22's for sure and the lack of quality 24" tire options doesn't help mitigate that; A 24" Michelin Defender, Continental Extreme Contact DWS, or PilotSport 4 AS would be ideal. If I do refinish and put rubber back on my 24's I was leaning towards trying the Yokohoma Parada Spec-X.

Hind sight I should have splurged on some 22" x 10" forged monoblocks with a finish that's suitable for year round use instead of the 24's I have but live and learn.

I'm in the process of lowering my '13 Escalade ESV, transferring over my Wilwoods I kept from my '15 Denali, possibly Hellwig Sway bars (Had Hotchkis bars on my '15 Denali but wasn't able to take them off in time before it went to Salvage). Stiffer sway bars have a huge impact on the GM full-size SUV platform. I can't lower mine as much as you've lowered your Tahoe due to work travel, job site visits, still my primary family hauler. But I want more tire than 285/45. I'm actually considering a mild 1.5" front drop and 2" rear drop and seeing if I can stuff a 305/45R22 tire in there. It's a lot of tire, but I'm not afraid of doing the Norcal Front fender mod or rolling a fender lip if needed.

It's a huge upside that a lot of the suspension and brake upgrades including my wilwoods fit on both the GMT900 and K2XX platforms with exception to front spindles. I've even looked into if my wilwoods could bolt onto a T1XX '21-'24 and they're identical parts list except for a different offset rotor hat (2-piece rotors) and a few misc. shims and washers. Same caliper mounting bracket even.

Man I am jealous of those Wilwoods!!!

Mine is pretty darn low, but I definitely still use it as the family hauler.

A 305/45 would be a MEATY tire.

Unfortunately the front fenders can't be "rolled" in the traditional sense, at least on the GMT900s, because the inner fender is metal and attached to the fender lip. I was real disappointed when I found that out.

You aint lyin about the sway bars being a HUGE difference. I was AMAZED and actually giggled when I swung it into a well-known curve.

If I do a 22x10, I'm thinking I may still do a 275/40, just to keep a lower-profile tire with less sidewall roll. a 275 will be pretty square on a 10" wide wheel. a 305 would be bulbous.

You’re right about the front fender and wheel wells on the GMT900. I was just further inspecting that last night in my driveway. They can’t be rolled, the way the inner fender attaches to the fender lip trying to roll that up for additional clearance would likely distort and misshape the fender from the outside as well… No bueno.

Sidewall roll with the 305/45R22 is my biggest concern. I don’t want the steering to feel sloppy. There’s actually a ‘12 Escalade ESV listed for sale about an hour from me with with 305/45R22’s on 22 x 9.5” rims I’d like to go test drive to see how it feels, if it’s that much more sloppy or not.

I’m telling you a 305/40 on a 22 x 10 is meaty, but I don’t think too bulbous. That shorter 40 series sidewall helps with that.

I’ll leave this right here for your consideration
22 x 10 +30 Forgestar X14 w/ 305/40R22

I think it looks less bulbous than 285/45 on factory 22 x 9 rims.

The deep concave and wide rubber just looks mean!

Those are the exact wheels I was looking at, but in the bronze color! Too funny! A 305/40 really isn't much smaller (height-wise) than a 285/45, whereas a 275/40 is quite a bit shorter. The 275/40 might end up being a little shorter than I'd like. I really wish there was a "try before you buy" program
