The Maglite Mod

I mounted a 6d Maglite under my glove box using the existing screws used to attach the glove box hinge and door for less than $10.

You will need these mounting clips:

While the clips are designed to have two mounting holes, they really only need one fastening point per clip when they are attached to your dashboard. They fit snugly and will not rotate once in position.

Since there are three different screws on your hinge, you can space the mounting clips a few different ways to suit your needs and the length of your flashlight. I have mounted both a 3D and a 6D this way. I am not certain a 2D is long enough to reach the clips when they are mounted this way.

Nah. I put in a Nite-Ize LED drop-in bulb that puts out about 75 lumens. It isn't the brightest, but it gives the 6d models a runtime of about 180 hours (almost unheard of in the flashlight world) on one set of batteries. I figured it makes a great emergency light. The fact that you can use it as a club is just a bonus. One whack to the dome piece with that thing and someone is getting coloring books for Christmas for the rest of their life.

That new Gen 3 6d is pretty sweet. 700 lumens for 70 hours is pretty awesome.

It hurt like hell. Broken nose, fractured cheek bone, almost lost my eye. But I learned I can take a hell of a hit and get right back up. Wife is right for once , guess I am hard headed lmao.
