I was talking to my sales rep during a service visit……(Don‘t panic…..Performance Exhaust Installation). He advised that the Heated Steering wheel should be a dealer install when parts, chips become available. So not a major panic there. Fortunately my build week was before heated steering wheel loss but still during the Auto Stop deletion……. No if we cans get then to remove RSE and use those chips for HD Radio.

Is this the same button that was used previously or something new?

Curious if it has to be pressed after each start.
No, with autostop Eliminator, once activated then the truck will stay in the last mode you had it. No need to push a button every time you start the vehicle. Set it, and forget it!

{edit} But to be honest, I don't know what the "new" GM disable button is actually going to do.

Are the Duramax Hoe’s equipped with Auto Start/Stop? I read the GM Authority webpage and I didn’t quite understand the wording:

Automatic stop/start was removed from all Chevy Tahoe and Suburban models that were equipped with either the naturally aspirated 5.3L L84 V8 or the 6.2L L87 V8, with buyers of affected vehicles receiving a $50 credit in exchange for the feature’s exclusion. The change was not applied to models equipped with the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.

I read this to mean that all Duramax Hoe’s are equipped with Auto Start/Stop, specifically, they never had it removed in the first place due to the chip shortage. Is this correct?

If that’s the case, do these little tricks listed in the earlier posts work on the Duramax version? Also, the article doesn’t mention anything about Yukons. Are they similarly affected?

My 21 Tahoe is in the shop right now with a starter that is failing. First time I took it in it was still under warranty and they claimed to have no clue what it could be and couldn't diagnose it. But now continuing to fail at starting, it's over the 36k miles and i've told them it's the start/stop and they act like they never heard of this issue before. I love my Tahoe, but it might be my last Chevy if they don't take care of this.

May be the last car you’ll ever have, just about any new car has his feature and have never heard of an industry wide starter failure yet.

It’s one of the most useless features for sure I don’t like it and find it extremely hard to believe it actually saves fuel.

Wonder if the police car versions have this turned on too.

I don't have an issue with it. Works fine. Some of you guys don't realize how much fuel is wasted idling.

You guys also don't realize that they engineer the starter for extra duty to make up for all the start stops.

But I guess we gotta complain about something. To each their own I suppose.

Well the newer models you can just hit the 'auto start/stop' bypass switch to put the option on pause if you don't like it. Problem solved. Just something you have to remember to do just after you start it up.

Which one works best?

The 4Dtech eliminator or the Auto Stop Eliminator?
