I just talked to her and I will be doing all the coils soon. Good catch @Fless. I should have seen that but I saw the valve cover leak, just before I closed the hood, after cleaning the MAF and I shot quick pics and shut the hood.

Always good karma to be honest. The best advertising is by word of mouth. Good for you Ron. Honest mechanics are so hard to find today--actually ANY honest BUSINESSES are hard to find.

Update on the CEL evap system problem on the 08 4Runner. The CEL is still out and today, I was there for tacos, she brought the old gas cap. I twisted it on and it tightened down and clicked several times and then I let go. I touched it and it rattled around and had to move about 1/4" to left and it came off. Was definitely not tightening down.

I am going back at 1:00 today, for tacos, to see her about the cracked ignition coil and get the ok to order in the set of 6 Denso ignition coils and the throttle body seal for when I clean the throttle body. Looks like when the coils come in I am doing all 6, clean the throttle body and do a battery cable end service. I think the valve cover gasket oil leak will have to get worse for her to do that. From RA the set of 6 coils, seal, shipping and discount come to $237.68. The same Denso coils and seal, at AZ, comes to $411.24. The coils at the dealer are $108.79 each. She is seeing the value of doing business with me for the use of the discounts.

Get the 99 Corolla tonight for the oil change and inspection to keep on road for 2-3 months. Checked for codes yesterday and has CEL on and codes of P0303 and P0304. I will be pulling all plugs to inspect and do know that when it comes a little off idle, the engine smooths out but at idle it has slight shakes. Is a 1.8 DOHC engine. I believe I can hear a slight vacuum leak and will be using my stethoscope to search for that. Is easy to pull plugs and will likely do a compression test too.

Was that coil cracked? Curious cuz it looked like a moisture spot to me. Like a splash of water or something else mixed with the dust on the coil but then dried.
Yes, it is cracked. I took her out to her vehicle, should have said this earlier-thanks for keeping me on my toes @iamdub, and we popped the hood and I reached in and showed her the crack and I could easily catch it with my fingernail. I actually ticked a little chunk off of it. Not arcing to metal close to it yet. She is very inquisitive and was very interested and was a little mad at the dealer for not pointing out the corrosion at the battery and for the air filter cover not being completely attached. I showed her where a Toyota site, that sold oe Toyota parts, showed the ignition coils in the same pic as the spark plugs because it is a good idea to replace them as a pair. I have asked to buy this vehicle from her many times, it is in great shape, and she said she loves the vehicle and wants to take care of it for a long time and also save money at the same time. I told her I can help her do that. Big smiles.
All this work came from a faulty gas cap.
