I have 01 Yukon 5.3 and the factory 4l60e finally blew up at 177k, money is tight and i can get a factory rebuild trans for 1300 with upgraded weak parts. I hear good reviews and i hear bad reviews, not sure what to do

I would deal with a local installer, that way they can deal with any warranty issues. I have seen rebuilt prices from $695-$1,695. it depends on the quality of parts used and what the market will bear.

buy a new one from summit racing and get a Quality trans with stronger internals.

why waste all that money on a REBUILD, by a shop who could have a mechanic having a bad hangover day. when a NEW trans only cost a few hundred more.

From my research, the way to go would be getting a completely new transmission, instead of rebuilding a blown one. My two cents of course, but you could have a fresh apple for $.50 more, or have a shined-up apple that has been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks. My opinion of course...Do it right the first time and save money down the road. Good luck!
