I just financed a 2003 Highlander for my daughter through USAA, but was also approved through Sandy Spring and BOA. I finanaced my 2004 Denali 2 years ago through USAA as well. Loan to value will be the biggest concern.

Those are classified more as "financial service companies" rather than "banking companies". By "bank", I meant Regions, Capitol One, etc. I ended up at a credit union (which I guess is technically a "bank") when looking for financing on my Tahoe.

But, I probably read it out of context when the term was used a few times in this thread so my previous post can be disregarded because it doesn't matter.

I've been with USAA for 27 years. They're the best.
I've tried to give USAA my business numerous times. They are always ridiculously higher in everything. Insurance, home loan, etc.

Very surprised to hear it. The only area in my experience where USAA has occasionally been higher is used auto loan rates, and not by much.

After comparing coverage vs cost, I've got virtually all of my banking and insurance related needs covered by USAA. And that's with my penny-pinching wife regularly scrutinizing our financials and insurance needs......and she's an HR Director who specializes in benefits.

Question about pricing. I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ and I'm thinking about selling it. It's got a ground wire that needs to be replaced, an evap canister that needs to be replaced, and 181k miles. I owe 8300 on it. Is that an unrealistic price to ask? If I can't get that, I've gotta keep it of course, but if it's not crazy, I wanna put it up for sale. What do y'all think?

Around here it would be listed for double that $8k and probably sell for closer to $10-$14k.

They wanted 3500 a year with worse coverage than State Farm for 1500 a year, on our home. They're always about 200 6 months over their auto too. I tried to give them a VA home loan a few months ago, and our bank beat them on interest rates by .25% and on fees. Maybe they just aren't competitive in Missouri, I don't know.

Pics? I'd do $8300 if it's nice
