X 3...Pass it up. Chipping clear and rust just leads to bigger issues IMO

Kind of what I was thinking, expecially when I told him about everything and he said the same price and that he couldnt really budge. Sorry but they are problems you didn't know about that I am bringing to your attention and still getting it for the same price...no thanks

2004 SLT 2wd 120,000 $9k but put $1k into fixing heat, intermediate shaft, battery, fuel filter, windshield. Great tight truck otherwise. Seats were "refinished" before I bought it, but they look good.

Sorry Tenn is a ways away, plus I need something that is 4wd. Also have a vehicle that I need to trade in, so can't do private party

Haha! It's not for sale, I just bought it. It was only to show you different markets have different prices. I got mine in NC and just flew out and drove it back.

Why do you not try and sell your "trade-in" vehicle and get a loan from a credit union so you can shop private party?

I would, but I have an expedition and the retail for them is horrible so I don't know if I could even sell it anytime soon. I have been looking and even a private party wants close to the same or more than the dealerships with the same amount of miles.

Well, I wish you all the best in your search. For me, it is not always a matter of price or miles, but I personnally have had a lot better luck with private parties when it came to overall/detailed condition of the vehicle as well as the trust factor. For me, most dealerships are not very trusthworthy when you buy a used high milage vehicle, ........................... just recall your recent experience on the one you just drove.

Yeah I understand, sadly the Ford we bought was messed up yes, but my daily driver Honda was bought with 130xxx miles and now I have 255xxx miles on it...so it's not always that bad. Guess it's all in the dealership
