So, I decided to remove my third brake light and clean it with Mother's headlight restorer kit. It came with a 4 step wet sanding process and a polishing foam ball attachment for a drill. The kit worked awesome and now my third brake light looks new. Only problem is, when I first reconnected it, 2 of the leds, one on each side of the center led, were out. As far as I know they were all in working order before I removed it. Then today I checked it and now all the leds are out. I checked the fuses, checked power at the plug and checked the connection. All seemed fine. I remember reading a thread about someone who had a similar problem. Does anybody have any suggestions before I buy a new one? Btw, here's how it looks after the restore kit-

Nice looking light, but it may not be a good thing that you have power to the plug but a dead light!! Any chance the connection in the plug may be bad? Have you tried wiring up a square 9v battery (smoke detector size) to the light to see if that powers it up? Just ideas!!

I hooked up a regular 12v bulb to the plug and it worked fine. Maybe I'll try your idea and see if the light itself is bad. Thanks Chris.

Also, last ditch on the thing would be to smack it around some to see if it has a bad internal connection or just to release some stress!! lol

oem or aftermarket? You may have some burnt out leds or loose connection inside the lens.

Yeah, I did that knowing I just wet sanded it and polished it and then come to find out the dang thing doesn't work anymore!

Oem. I may cut it apart just to see what the problem is, even if I can't put it back together. I know there are no screws, just glue holding it together.

Ya its probably corroded inside and no good. Thats one of the first things I had to replace when I got my Yukon. Nice polish work though!
