If that’s a Target parking lot you should show up with a Costco pizza on a weekend or holiday and ask for the loss prevention staff. Ask if the cameras out front captured anything (off the record).

I’ve had the pleasure of getting a license plate # off a hit and run when I was at a jr college. The jack hole hit my Porsche I couldn’t afford. I learned how to wrench on it so I made it work.

I grabbed a witness, made a police report and dogged determined to recover the $1k deductible for refinishing the huge panel.

I filed in small claims court, subpoenaed the owner of the car and low & behold he showed up to contest it. My witness got intimidated and backed out. I lost but the judge gave me a nice compliment for going after him saying the guy was really lucky. Judge said it just happened to his car.

Keep in mind that it may not have been a car. Does it line up with a shopping cart or their shopping cart “go kart” that pushes 15 of them at a time?

Visited L.A. one time with my wife to visit a friend of hers. Other than the Ansel Adams exhibit at the museum near the LaBrea Tarpits, I decided we should put a 12' tall razor-barbed chain link fence around the whole place and declare it the United States National Zoo. I've yet to witness behavior that selfish since - particularly when it comes to driving. And I do battle in Nashville and Atlanta on a regular basis.

Not just an LA thing, had it happen too a few times on different vehicles. Over the summer we went to a community pool we like but they have the narrowest parking spots, my 5 year old throws her door open and press a dent in the car beside us. Spent the next half hour finding the owner, a teenage lifeguard there, and luckily she didn't care but I felt bad.

On another note, I dated a girl from around the LA area and she was the worst human being I have ever met.

Mudflaps in the city? ...there are no country backroads with loose gravel here.
There are tiny rocks and pebbly type crap EVERYWHERE, in EVERY city and on every road. Lol. It’s called asphalt and that’s jsut what happens to it…. even if you’re not driving on gravel roads your tires are throwing up pebbles at everyone behind you at some point in the day driving….. that and there are tons of mountains surrounding LA….. I live in some of them. There are plenty of gravel roads near you…. You just don’t go on them. Lol.

That being said it’s not just an LA thing. I avoid it whenever possible but I still have to drive there once in a while. The same jerk wads that don’t care about other peoples belongings live here too. And then the LA tourists that are totally clueless come up here to vacation in the mountains and they do the same things. It’s just how our society is now. It doesn’t make it any less sucky…… but…. What can we do about it?! I’m lucky in that being in a smaller town the attitude is less selfish. But it happens. Just not as often.
A guy on a mountain bike decided to ignore the red light on his side of the intersection and pulled out in front of me last week when I’m my light turned green. I blared the the horn and he got pissed so much so that he decided to turn around and slam the front of his bike into my front bumper. I have a pretty nice gash in my paint from his stupid bike…. I was furious. He was the one in the wrong and yet he flipped out on me. I’m not gonna lie I wasn’t nice….. he hit the bumper and I touched my throttle a tad bit so that he got the message to not mess with me anymore than he already had…. I put the window down and threw out a pretty sarcastic line about the fact that he was not exempt from following traffic laws and clearly his pull out game needed work….. :Big Laugh: I also made it known he was lucky that I hadn't already gotten out and laid his behind to pavement…. Because it took everything I had not to get out and finish him off…..I’m not proud of it but I said what I said and can’t take it back….. lol.

Sorry about your truck but Detroit's no better, people driving around without plates and insurance still blaming covid.

I'm sure it would cost more to replace that rim/tire than fix the sheet metal.
