The Kon smells a lot like a wet dog (due to dog) and the carpet is plain well dirty. Im going to get a shop-vac to use for pulling up the water which I plan to soak into the carpet. Ill only do this if I can remove the seats; I could use advise on this. Im wondering what soap would clean very well yet be safe on the carpet, or if none of this is safe to do. Just looking for any input, tips, etc.

Ive also had other thoughts of dying the carpet if recommended products are not able to get out the stains. Anyone ever done anything like this with success?

As far as the cleaning of the carpet, car I have detailed I use shout laundry cleaner on the carpet. It gets stains out and leave a fresh scent. I spray on carpet, heavy on stain areas then use a good scrub brush and scrub the carpet dipping the Brush in some warm water then using a clean wet towel to clean excess dirt, then use shop vac an another clean dry towel to dry carpet and leave doors open until dry. Don't soak inside where it will take over night to dry where you have puddles of water on floor. Just enough to loosen stains and odor.

Thanks for the tips, however, its been a little more involved; and less. I decided to not take out the seats, but I did get some BlueMagic carpet stain remover. It has good reviews, though have yet to use it because of the more involved part (and rain).

I had discovered that the dog really only sat in the back seat; I could see the foot prints smeared all over the leather. I decided to tackle this with PurplePower and after cleaning the seat, I noticed how dirty the leather and the plastics of the interior really were. Basically I have been letting degreaser soak in on almost all the plastics. I have it slightly diluted in a spray bottle; saturate a panel or two, let soak, scrub and let sit, spray again and immediately wipe off excess. The result were astounding; didn't even realize how dirty the plastics were until I finished. As you could imagine, this has taken most of the day.

I will be going to a local car wash to do a thorough vacuuming; Wet/Dry Vac was too pricey to invest into at this time, and isn't really necessary at this point. Once I get back home I will use the 'New Car Smell' interior cleaner/shiner (waiting for now as I will be spot checking for areas that were missed when degreasing). Then I will move onto the carpet and hopefully see good results as I'm close to having a like new interior at this point! Ill take pics when all finished (would have taken before had I known it was so bad).

I'm sure I wont get that 'new car smell', but it does smell like it will be some good stuff. As of now it certainly smells better, no more dog smell at all.

No problem, but yes taking seats out was a lil but much unless something wasted underneath.

Taking out the seats does seem like a bit over doing it, but if you had smelled that interior; especially as strong as it was, four days later. Granted this is when I had assumed the dog was all over the floor; which as we know now was not the case. At four days later and as bad as it was, I couldn't imagine it any other way.

As for the stains, they are mostly in the floor boards and really bad on the transmission tunnel. I inspected under the seats and all they need is just a good vacuuming.

Use a spray bottle so you don't over do the water... Use what ever detergent you like(smell) and go at it with brush and towels.. Start from front to back

Just got done with cleaner/shiner and wipe down; truck looks amazing!

I just done a quick carpet cleaning on the tranny tunnel and I'm very impressed so far. Only Con's so far; it doesn't go very far, rightly so as I had a lot of spot cleaning. And the smell, it may be strong for some. Bares to mention, the truck smells great, not the new car smell of course; very happy though.
