Unless your injectors are bad that alone will not make your mileage jump.

Don't think you will see 14 mpg in the city even with the new fuel injection system. My rig is a 1998 2 door 4x4. It's pretty much stock except it has 285's instead of the 265 tires that came on it. Has upgraded fuel injectors. The best mpg's I get is 15-16 on the hwy averaging 65 mph. In the city it's always 10-12 depending on how much foot I put in the pedal. One thing for sure: acceleration kills mpg's quick!

I would change the fuel filter and use the GM fuel solution to clean fuel path to the injectors and them too and change the air filter clean the TB and MAF sensor and change the gas station as well and dont your RPM Goes more than 2100

I believe what saif is talking about is gm top end cleaner.
You cannot put that in the gas tank. Something like sea foam is great for the gas tank.
It can also help keep injectors clean as maint sort of thing.

The top end cleaner or a kit that is have. (youtube otc injector cleaning kit)
Has a canister that is filled with injector cleaner, depending on the car/truck. The line connects to the Schrader valve or t's into the fuel line. The fuel pump relay/fuse/or plug is taken out.
An air hose is attached to bump the "fuel" pressure so it will run. Run until it dies, enable the fuel system take it for a spin to get any residual cleaner out.
On vehicle by far the best way to clean them.
