Thoughts on greasable upper amd lower control arm bolts?

Hi all,

Had to take the ride into a shop for some electrical work. While I was in there the shop found three out of four ball joints were going bad in the front. It's a semi rusty western NY truck, so I'm going to do upper and lower control arms. Moogs with the greasable ball joints. Shop owner recommended I replace hardware and suggested greasable bolts. I found some online, screen shot posted. Has anyone used these? They worth a shot? Is this snake oil? What are our thoughts here?

Very interesting. I personally would but only with these type of cams. I would be afraid of the slotted factory cams trying to walk with a lubed fastener.

Oh dang I didn't even think about that. I figured it would just lubricate where the bushing is and wouldn't interfere with the tightness of the cam plate. Whole new fear unlocked lol!

The concept looks solid, but the lack of finer adjustment is a drawback (emphasis mine): "Provides +/- 1.5 degrees of camber & caster adjustment in 0.5 degree increments."

Oh dang I didn't even think about that. I figured it would just lubricate where the bushing is and wouldn't interfere with the tightness of the cam plate. Whole new fear unlocked lol!

Just thinking out loud, I could be full of sh*t. Like to hear other's opinions. I know they sell upper control arms with lube fittings on those bushings so it would be the same environment. All I know is when I try to tighten those slotted cam plates down they want to move on me. Those dirt king plates are kick ass. PITA to install and adjust but they lock into place leaving me piece of mind. They look good too.

It's been my post-pandemic experience that a majority of alignment shops they don't give a FK about that fine of an adjustment let alone even doing more than a toe and go. But I do get you. I do my own alignments so I am not as worried about it.

How much do you get from stock?

To be clear, my comment is about the fineness of adjustment, not the adjustment range. So, "how much" isn't what I was responding about, it's that you can't get less than a half-degree change.

Greaseable bushings? Only seen them on some aftermarket lift kit a-arms.
