Is there a spec on this? I have 2001 tahoe q 5.3l

I feel as though cable has a lot of slack.

I cannot find a spec or adjustment instructions.

Just because it wont look OEM doesn't mean it wont work :sunot: Btw not to highjack you, but when you removed the longer front axle tube, was there just a single tabbed spacer under axle or is it a pair? I know there is a big washer but that one is by it self and falls off when you remove the tube from the housing, I was wondering about if its just 1 or 2 after removing the actual axle from the c clipped gear. I'm paranoid I might have lost one when I pulled it apart with the slide hammer as I only got 1 tabbed spacer from under it, and I saw a youtube vid with a guy that pulled 2 from under it but it was from a 2007 model. Thought I would ask since I remember you had fun with one of those. Thanks!

Ignore this I found it!! Glad you had done this before, now I know I wasn't going crazy, looks like they changed the design later on, I had to stalk your profile like a mad man to hunt the picture! Thanks.

No worries about hijacking... I was paranoid about that too. It takes as many spacers as necessary to get the desired end play taken out of the axle. I forget what the spec is for end play. I had to google a lot then found it on another forum I believe, not sure if I put the spec on TahoeYukonForum or not. Feel free to email me if you have issue matthew @ keysToAz (dot) com or call 520 three four four three 4 eight 1 (trying to avoid any stupid robo swipers from adding me to nasty spam lists lol)
