tinted license plate cover

Had a NYC traffic agent give me a ticket last year and my cover was clear and had it on for at lleast 7 years. went to traffic court and paid half the fine.

You'd think it would be illegal to sell them.

No, they are just making money. It's up to you to know your States laws before adding things like that. It's funny they still have this window tint issue in Chicago, but my partner has a 06 Max with dark windows all the way around, but he got pulled over and a ticket for CLEAR rear plate cover, I had to laugh. I have one on the truck for as long as I owned her (12 years) and never gotten a ticket but I have Veteran plates and it sometimes has perks, lol.

I don't even know why they sell them if they are illegal. Where I live, if you're rocking one of those you're asking to get pulled over...like they need an excuse when you're driving an Escalade

Had one on the back for a bit-got pulled over by the WI state patrol-got warned for it along with no front plate and tint......since removed it from the back and it put it on the front along with my front plate

its legal to sale since its for offroad use aka show. read the box. aswell as headlight cover and whatnot been there cops dont give a flying shit around here but inspection wont pass u if they see any of it...
