Tire advice, stock or worth it to go larger

When I bought the tahoe knew it needed tires asap. My question is do I stick with the stock 265/70 R17s or go for something like a Procomp leveling kit and go for 285s. Price difference including the addition of the leveling kit is about $600 ($280 tires w/roadside hazard)($280 Pro Comp Nitro 2.5" leveling kit) plus taxes and instal labor for the leveling kit. And another $200 ish if I add wheels spacers to enhance to the look and stance.

One last thing, providing I limit the articulation will the 285s fit with stock suspension, if so, running this option would be viable for a couple months, then I could add the leveling kit when it's time to change the shocks. Will Z71 springs fit on a 2wd LT. I ask because in the jeep world people change to the Rubicon springs all the time, so I'm guessing the Z71 springs are slightly larger and stronger than the stock springs, if they do I'll up grade to those when adding the leveling kit and upgrading the shocks.

Or because I'm wanting travel a lot to maximize my MPGs I stick with stock and add wheels spacers(mostly for looks).

The 285`s are slightly over an inch bigger and about 3/4 inch wider. With a leveling kit i`m pretty sure you`ll be ok but hopefully someone running that size will respond. Z71 springs will give you a little more height over regular coils.

Thanks for the info guys, I knew the size wasn't a huge difference.

Kauffman Tire here in GA runs specials according to the ATL sports teams. Well the Braves hit a homer in the 4th so the following day you get $144 off any 4 tires. So I went with the stock size. I wanted the Toyo open country something or other I think, but ended up with Cooper AT3s because they were in stock. So $650 installed wasn't to bad I thought.

I also think I'll just add some spacers for the time being and call it a day. While I would like a lift or leveling kit, there's other areas I rather spend money on in hopes of turning this rig into a camping and fishing machine.

They are probably the least researched item I've ever bought. I found out about the deal and they were the only tires in stock. Watched a couple youtube videos and went with them.
