If I were to buy one, I'd buy the Tiregate. Since you can remove it very easy whenever.

If I were to build my own. I'd make a whole bumper. I like either "tactical" style bumpers or prerunner style.

I called the Tire Gate website store and here's the break down if you order it directly from them. These prices are for an OBS Tahoe.

Carrier $650

Lic Plate relocator $75

2 Gas can carrier that mounts on the carrier between the tire and the vehicle $330

Jack Carrier ($100 vertical mount) ($125 horizontal mount)

Ouch! Big bucks for an item that isn't really built to fit the exact body lines like a specific replacement bumper.
Probably depends on what trails you wheel, but I've seen really high mounted Jeep bumpers drag on hill climbs. The Tire Gate would hang up everywhere.
