Tire mileage

I tried the search function but didn't find any info. I'm new to the Yukon world. My 2016 Denali (22" wheels) is the first I have owned. Checking tire tread depth (5/32) and mileage (36,000 miles) I anticipate needing new tires around 50,000 miles. I understand the many variables that affect tire mileage. Should I expect better mileage than 50,000 total miles from a set of tires? Tire manufacturer/model recommendations? Real world experience? Any info you make available will be greatly appreciated.

Based on my experience with our ‘13 Escalade ESV and my ‘15 Yukon Denali XL; f you’re on OEM Bridgestone Dueler’s in 285/45/22 you should be pretty happy with getting 50K miles out of them.

Michelin Defenders, none better for that wheel and for street/highway use.

I typically don't make it to 20,000 miles on a set of tires, good job!

I've seen many recommendations for Michelin Defenders LTX. What has been your experience regarding mileage life using Michelin Defenders?

I have not used them personally. I used to sell LTXs 25 years ago and they always went an easy 80K miles. Current reviewers on TireRack mention 80K-110K with these latest tires. If I wasn't sweet on an All-Terrain tire, mine would be shod with the Defenders.

I replaced the factory Bridgestones with Dueller LTX’s not long ago (60,***) and as of now 20,*** later they still show full tread depth....so far so good. But I also have my tires rotated with every oil change - historically that has made a huge difference in tread life for me (significant highway miles for traveling business manager) assuming your vehicle is in good alignment and stays in alignment.

Heck I had a 2010 F-150 Supercab with Goodyear Wrangler ATs that I did the same rotation on and believe it or not those factory tires made it 126K miles before the tread got down to 5/32 and I replaced them! Still amazes me to this day - and is the reason I maintain the rotation schedule and alignment checks!
