So im getting a set of 26's for the escalade and I like that fact that I can read the tire pressure VIA the dash. What am I going to have to do to make the new setup work in conjunction with the pressure monitoring system?

You'll need to take them off your stock wheels and put them on the 6's or do what I did and bought a set off ebay for my rims.

Or you can get an extra set of sensors and have them put into your new wheels and have them programmed. That way you can swith wheels when you want without having TPMS issues. BTW, I have a set for sale.. $100 shipped..

do you have to take the tire off the rim to get to the sensor?

Personally I invested in a second set for the aftermarket wheels. It seemed like too much trouble (time, money, etc.) to worry about swapping the stock sensors back and forth to and from which ever set I was wanting to use. Having each set of wheels with their own sensors will prevent additional labor costs...

You'll have to do the reset procedure, I think. You turn the ignition and hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 5 seconds. The horn will chirp twice and the DIC will read something about the reset.

Then you add/subtract air from each tire until the horn chirps, and then move to the next wheel.

You start with the front left, then go to front right, then rear right, and finally rear left wheel. After the rear left, the horn should sound twice and you would be done.
